An initiative that is a powerful entity for the upliftment, training and nurturing of the thousands of young people that come into the hospitality industry, creating an opportunity for the participating hotels to become a unified force. In 2014 Cape Legends Inter Hotel Challenge has gone nationwide, launching in Cape Town, Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal with 21 hotels coming on board and seeing a huge growth in this exciting project.

Our stunning launch in Cape Town took place at the TAJ where they recently unveiled their new historic ‘Reserve’ ABC Banking Hall Est. 1927, set to become one of the Cape’s new most stylish venues. General Manager Michael Pownall made a major announcement at the launch; the magnificent TAJ Group in India is offering an inspirational prize for the winning Candidate Chef - a brilliant opportunity of a three week working visit to the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai. Cape Legends will be providing the return flights for this valuable prize.

Plaisir de Merle Winemaker Niel Bester, who will be mentoring our Candidate Wine Steward from Radisson Blu Waterfront, celebrated 20 years in 2012. "It was a challenge to create a true Plaisir style for this Distell flagship estate," he explains. In this he succeeded admirably, recently producing their first Méthode Cap Classique, the Plaisir de Merle Grand Brut - a stunning asset at any celebration!
