Franz Lauinger grew up in Germany and trained as a photographic retouching specialist.
He emigrated to South Africa in 1965 and became part of one of South Africa’s top photographic studios, UCA
Studio.
His love and interest in food has led him to specialise in still life and food
photography.
Today, Franz Lauinger is one of South Africa’s top photographers and his graphic
style and meticulous approach, are particularly evident in the SHOWCOOK series.
Franz is an enthusiastic weekend cook. He and his wife, Nicky, and their daughter
Katherine, live at the Cape.
